The purpose of this Pack is threefold; firstly to counter this lack of knowledge and maliciousness by equipping young people with the information they need to stay on the right side of the law. Secondly it aims to help police inform young people in their area about how they can engage with the police if they feel they have been the victim of a crime.
Thirdly it’s also about being an important part of ‘crime prevention’ and the key role police play in this. This document aims to help community police officers understand why and how young people use these in order to better judge for themselves the best way to intervene.
